Exploring the Toolbar in AutoCAD

Modify Toolbar plays a very vital role while creating engineering drawings. Modify tools can be accessed through Modify Toolbar, Modify pull-down menu and through the command line as well. Your drawing consists of a square, rectangle, triangle, polygons, circles and simple lines. Once you create one of these objects you may not like them the way they are. You may want to rotate, move, copy or scale the object. For this you must have basic understanding of the Modify Toolbar and all the tools included in it.   • Erase: Erase tool will let you erase any object from the drawing area. The icon of Erase tool is like an eraser. Once selected you need to click on the portion which you need to erase.
  • Copy: This tool is used for copying one or more than one object within a drawing.
  • Mirror: With this tool you can create an exact mirror duplicate of an object.
  • Offest: With Offset tool you can offset any object with a defined distance.
  • Extend: This simple tool will let you extend the length of a line that has already been drawn.
  • Array: With this tool you can make rectangular as well as polar array of an object.
  • Move: With the Move tool you can move objects around in the drawing area.
  • Rotate: Rotate is a tool which can be used for rotating an object around a base point to any degree.
  • Scale: With this tool you can make any object smaller as well as larger.
  • Trim: With this tool you can trim an object from any other object.
  • Chamfer: With the Chamfer tool you can create chamfer between two line.
  • Fillet: With this tool you can easily put a fillet between two lines by defining a radius.
